Bills, Bills, Beautiful Bills
by Glenda Ball
Just like the old saying "Time is God's way of
keeping everyting from happening at once," BILLS
and DEBTS are the way we keep from having to pay
for everything we have at one time!
Bills allow us to do all sorts of great things:
have electricity in our homes, buy a car, send our
kids (or ourselves!) to college, give terrific
Christmas gifts, go on unforgettable vacations.
But is it possible to enjoy paying them?
When your bills arrive in the mail, keep them in a
pretty box or on a beautiful tray until the time
comes when you get to play with...oops, I mean,
pay...them. Collect interesting postage stamps,
stickers, pretty pens with colored ink to use, and
a supply Thank You notes to enclose with your
check.
Then, when you sit down to pay your bills, RELAX!
Make yourself a cup of coffee or tea. Put on your
favorite music. Take a little time to remember
buying the item or enjoying the service the bill
represents. Enclose a Thank You note to the
florist for the beautiful flowers you bought when
you pay that bill.
This is also a great time to review your spending
habits. You have all kinds of choices to make:
prime rib or veggie burger patties?
Imported-perfumed or discount store- plain? The
choice is yours...and it's your money!
If you're over your head in debt, don't wait and
worry another day! Contact someone at your bank
or public library and find out about reputable
people who can help you. Never lose sight of the
light at the end of the tunnel; there is "PAID IN
FULL" at the end of the debt!
Let's face it. It looks like we're going to be
paying bills for as long as we're alive; we may as
well enjoy it. So get out those smiley face
stickers and pay your beautiful bills!
